“It was the strangest thing I’ve seen. I looked at her, she looked like me.
Although our heads were separate parts, we gave ourselves, we fused two hearts.
Two voices caught in time, I sound like yours, you sound like mine.
Without your sight my eyes are weak, I am your arms, you are my feet,
And tomorrow could be our new day.” – Gangs of Ballet

Natasha & Barry’s wedding has honestly been one of the highlights of the past wedding season. After months of planning, hard work and help from friends and family, the public hallway, adjoining the local library, was transformed into one of the most incredible settings for a wedding. Add an amazing sunset shoot, staring out on the waters of Hartebeespoortdam, a DIY reception and festivities echoing into the night – and you have yourself a modern day fairytale.

Tears were flowing from the moment Natasha’s beautiful bridesmaids entered through the gates of their outdoor ceremony. And from there on, these two radiated love and happiness.

The way that Barry looks at (and after) Tash, is something every girl dreams of. Their love for one another is so inspiring, honest & raw, and it was only a privilege to capture their love story.

A few words from Barry, on how he met Tash:

“Ok, so we met through my wife’s best friend at church. About 5 months after we met, we both went on to Mozambique on an outreach. That’s where it all began… Then, one night, my friend asked me if there was one girl here that I would like to marry one day.  I told him: ‘Tashi….’

From that moment on, I could not keep my eyes off of her!”

The proposal:

“We were together for about 3 and a half years, and I realised: ‘I wanted to grow old with this girl!’

Zavier Rudd, a musician from Australia, was in RSA and he did a concert in Clarens. The Thursday night, I phoned her, and told her to be ready at 05:00 the next morning – we were going somewhere.

The Saturday we drove out of Clarens on a gravel road, broke into a farm, and had a picnic between the tall grasses.  Ate, drank, laughed and I went down on one knee and asked her if she would be my wife. She said ‘YES!’ –  Second Greatest weekend, after the wedding weekend!”
